The rise of computer game addiction

In current times, with hardcore chemicals is the scourge of civilized life, heroin, cocaine, vicodin, all classes of drugs that are artificial and not naturally produced or even those that are natural, it seems a nonsense to talk about addiction a computer game. But it is neither silly nor trivial. Beware!

The popularity of these games, played on home computers, Xbox, Playstation, GameCube and other consoles, shows that this addiction does not affect everyone equally. Some people can play a game for an hour, then return to work, or watching TV and not give a second thought to the game. Others play to 8 hours or more, giving up meals, family, work and everyday tasks.

The companies that produce these games do not help the problem, in fact, fuel the flames roaring fire. Obviously, they understand that there are millions of people going to give up simple things in life to pay $ 10 a month to play a game of objects and things that are intangible. So feed the addiction, the release of new items obtainable only in the world online, or release a new add-on upgrades and expansions of another $ 50. The end result is money, of course, are the corporations that are responsible to their shareholders, and nobody wants the blame for the ruinous addiction are causing. With increasingly larger online worlds enter the fray of games (World of Warcraft, Everquest 2 ...), it seems that this is a problem that will only increase.

Psychologists have described this as a computer addiction or internet disorder, a very similar problem to pathological gambling or compulsive shopping, unfortunately, does not just affect one person, but seeps into family life affecting those around the addict. This is a real disorder, not imaginary, and those affected should seek professional help and more, need love, comfort and support of friends and family. Maybe a little love resistance is in order also to regulate the time on the computer, turn off your child's playstation after playing for an hour, get involved in activities real world that have nothing to do with a computer.

This is not an American phenomenon, or European, this is worldwide, and only got worse. The Chinese have begun the camps for teenagers addicted to computers, in a country where almost 15% of teenagers suffer from Internet addiction disorder according to the China Internet Information Center.
