World of Warcraft Guide

How do I get Into the warcraft 3/Frozen scene?

I guess I'm pretty good with scenario maps like tower defences, D-day and DotA but so far I've always been playing on LAN, so what exactly is "Battle.net", and what does it have to do with online play?

Here's what I need to know:

What should i download?(from a torrent) warcraft 3 +Frozen expansion? (what's battle.net edition? do i need it?)

When I get it how far should I patch it? im asuming with the latest patches available from any gaming site?

Once I've got it, set it up and patched it and stuff? what's next
(how do I start playing?)

Battle.net is a free service provided by Blizzard for their Diablo, Warcraft, and Starcraft series. Playing on the Battle.net is quite challenging, everybody will employ different tactics and you can met a variety of different players. You can also enjoy competing on the ladder games to see how good you are.

Downloading WC3/FT from a torrent will almost guarentee you that the key would not be legit or it has been used by other people. If you would like to play on Battle.net then you would most likely have to purchase a retail copy to get a valid key for yourself.

Playing on the Battle.net will require you to patch your client up to the latest version. This is to fix bugs, updates, balances and to prevent players using certain cheats, hacks, or exploits that were still working in the previous versions. Its probably best to download from Blizzard/Battle.net if possible, because the patch files might be hacked or infected on other websites before being posted. In the last patch that I played, it no longer requires you to have the CD when playing but a valid key is still needed to play on Battle.net.

After you have patched your game up to the latest version. All you have to do is just start the game, then go Multiplayer->Battle.net. After connecting to Battle.net you just create an account to start playing.
